Microfinance Institutions (MFI’s)
GO-Hi provides management support and/or Technical Assistance to MFI’s and DFI’s in and around the continent of Africa.
Services to this sector include operational and management support or technical assistance to management and/or boards of directors. These MFI's include:
- public sector MFI’s with African governments supporting developmental finance organisations offering credit to poor or small entrepreneurs
- Non-Profit MFI’s capitalised and funded by international donor agencies
- commercial MFI's offering small short term consumer loans to employed, low income people.
MFI’s in Africa have specific needs for support and GO-Hi aims to provide this required support to MFI management and leadership.
Strategic and operational challenges will always be there, and MFI line management often are too close to the action and require support with decision making, process development, lending methodology refinement and governance matters.
GO-Hi is also available to work with Donor Agencies and Development Organisations to provide support to MFI’s with capacity building initiatives, performance evaluations, due diligence investigations in consideration of funding etc.
Technical Assistance and management consulting is provided to Microfinance Institutions and other Credit Providers (DFI’s & Banks) along the following areas:
- New loan product development and guiding Proof of Concept (POC)
- Refinements to existing loan products
- Support with Governance matters in multiple branch network environment
- Stakeholder Management, Strategies & Plans
- Lending Methodology - design or improvements to existing practices
- Portfolio & Delinquency Management – strategies & action plans
- Performance Evaluations & Impact Assessments on behalf of Donor Agencies
- Operations Management Strategies & Support to MFI Leadership
- Loans Officer and Management training
- Policies – Gap analysis & new policy development or enhancements
- Workflow design, process maps compilation, improvement of efficiencies
- Receivables management strategies
- Risk Management Plans, inclusive of Disaster Recovery Plans and Business Continuity Plans
- Detective & Preventative Internal Controls, including fraud preventions plans
- Support to MFI with raising capital (loan book, capacity building & operations)
- Sustainability management plans – from start-up to breakeven
- Human Resources strategies – job profiles, recruitment, HR processes, compliance etc
- Performance Management Systems – develop, implement, monitor
